Laser Hair Removal Treatments
The Elysion is a medical grade diode laser and uses the optimum wavelength of light to deliver heat energy to the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding skin. This selective heating of the follicle disables the hair permanently and over the next 7-10 days post treatment the hair will simply fall out leaving the skin smooth and hair free until the next phase of hair growth appears in 6-8 weeks later.
Laser Hair Removal works by means of selective photothermolysis which is based on the selective destruction of the hair follicle, protecting, as much as possible, the surrounding structures: the epidermis and the dermis.
How many treatments are required?
With the new Elysion laser you will require less treatments than with older Intense Pulse Light (IPL) of laser treatment as it can deliver higher energy in the follicle due to its innovative skin cooling technology. There are three stages of hair growth and at any one time only 30% of the hairs are visible on the skin surface the rest are in a dormant state.
The laser can only treat hairs that are in the growing phase or visible on the skin surface, as a result multiple treatment are required to treat all hair in the skin. With the high power and skin cooling of Elysion most people only require 6 sessions compared with other IPL lasers that require 8-12 or in some cases more. As a result, not only are our individual treatments prices lower but you will save more overall due to the superior results of Elysion laser.
Is it painful?
The Elysion has two modes of operation. The static mode delivers single pulses of high energy and has a sensation on the skin of a small rubber band flicking the skin. The dynamic mode offers painless treatment and is suitable for all skin types even tanned skin. We will customise treatment for each individual to ensure maximum results and comfort. Most other IPL or lasers off a single mode, can be quite painful and have a greater potential for side effects.

Your treatment plan
Initially we will provide a free consultation to explain the treatment in detail and assess your suitability. We will cover a complete medical questionnaire and provide you with all the information you need to be comfortable proceeding with treatment including very clear costing and pre and post treatment instruction and advice.
We would then perform a patch test to ensure no adverse reaction and you can begin your first session two days later. You will have approximately 6 sessions 8 weeks apart. Some people may require more maintenance treatments, but we can advise you during your consultation.
